After almost 2 years in Jordan, I finally made it to Ajloun with my orientation group at Qasid Arabic Institute. Without further ado, the trip in pictures.

It was so much bigger inside than I thought it would be-- never taken by force, super defensible on a mountain peak
I think the guide said this was where they poured defensive boiling oil, most on crusaders, I think.
On a clear day you can see Mount Hermon in the Golan Heights to the north and the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem to the south-west.
Messenger pigeons lived in this tower and took messages to Damascus or Cairo in 12 hours and Baghdad in 24 hours
